Dear Eastside Families,
I am very excited to welcome you to another school year at Eastside Elementary School! I am honored to serve as your principal and to be part of such a caring and committed school community.
This year marks my 20th year in education and my fourth year in Whitfield County Schools. My journey began teaching in the areas of special education and physical education. I earned both my Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees from Carson Newman College and am currently pursuing my specialist degree in Educational Leadership, which I will complete in the summer of 2026.
Outside of school, I love spending time with my family, cheering on my daughter at her softball games, and following Braves baseball and Alabama football.
At Eastside, we believe in creating a safe, supportive environment where every child is seen, heard, and encouraged to reach their fullest potential. I look forward to working alongside each of you this school year to make it one filled with growth, learning, and lasting memories.
Here’s to a fantastic year ahead!
Warmly,
Lisa Gray

I have worked in Whitfield County for 18 years. I started my career at Eastbrook Middle School where I started first as a parapro and then became a teacher. I have taught mainly 7th grade and a couple of years in 6th grade. I am very passionate about Math and Science in middle school. I left the classroom in 2021 when I became Assistant Principal at Eastbrook Middle School. The following year I was given the opportunity to be Assistant Principal at Dug Gap Elementary for 3 years. At the beginning of the 2025-2026 school year I became the Assistant Principal at Eastside Elementary. While I miss the other schools I have been at before I feel right at home at Eastside. I feel very lucky to have the opportunity to be here and get to know all of our students and their families.
